It’s a 5 star experience really. The staff is extremely friendly and goes above and beyond to give you a memorable experience - at the very beginning, we had the lovely May explain to us the dynamic of the restaurant and it’s dishes. It’s an Asian inspired sharing food concept. We loved it! We’re familiar with this since we lived in Asia so we couldn’t wait any longer.
We order the ceviche, the avocado salmon sushi , loaded kimchi fries, Korean honey glazed chicken and the ox tail won ton. We ate everything with so much enthusiasm, and so so quickly ! I wished we could’ve eaten a bit slower!
For what it’s worth, we ate the other dishes at a decent pace to enjoy them. But that is how good the food is in here.
The service is quick, we were impressed because since the moment we arrived until we finished eating there were inly 40 minutes in between.
I want to thank Soe for coming over to our table and refilling our glasses of wine, and for contstantly asking if were doing fine. We wanted more food so we ordered more food and he brought it right away.
I’m telling you, we will come back for sure!
Went out with my family once and enjoyed my time, the oysters were really fresh and the mock-tails were also available for the ones who do not drink. Moreover, the staff are nice especially the lady with the blond long hair (Thank you for the compliments!) The second time we went there we sat outside just to drink something quickly however, the waiter just ignored us for 50 minutes (I do not even know why we stayed longer) and even told us to go to him if we wanted to order something. We ended up leaving unfortunately.
What a cosy restaurant.
The food was perfect, had the best motchi of my life here and the seasoning is in point. The service was super friendly. I'm going to be back for sure.
Prices are totally fine.
Can't say anything about the bakery or the shop though. Haven't been or bought anything there.
We had our wedding lunch at this place last November and we are so happy of their service. They are kind enough to set up the table for us and cater to our needs even though it became so busy. We are a group and Senna was very nice and attentive to us. I highly recommend this place as the food was also great. The ramen is a must try.
Whilst the area is still under heavy construction, the first apartments are finished and locals are treated to this gold themed restaurant, lunchroom, deli.
They make good coffee, their chefs prepare tasty food from the open kitchen and you can also pick up some foods to go.
The space is nicely designed, offers a lot of seating and just looks beautiful. For the evening crowds there's draft-tables and snacks. And always with a view over the little Amsterdam houseboats and skyline.
Had a dinner on Monday. Seems they specialize in fish/sushi related cuisine, however we opted for beef meat and vegetarian options. Black angus and courgette tempura were well prepared and super tasty. I loved the Mezcal Negroni cocktail. However the attention from staff was poor we had seek for the waitress to ask for things..
The way food should be. Please don't change this concept and this team. And they make their own pastries including wonderful croissants. Bravo!
Karaat Amsterdam has a bakery, restaurant, Goldfin / sushi and golden room. I only tried the bakery and enjoyed a very nice cappuccino and a nice sandwich, both were excellent. The ambiance is great and so is the design of the interior and building.
The design is by Frits van Dongen and Patrick Koschuch, former Government Architect. The golden tiles in the facade were specially made for Frame Amsterdam by Koninklijke Tichelaar from Makkum. Centuries-old craft and new architecture come together here.
